Manchester United are a team which hold very close to their heart what happened in Munich 65 years ago. The plane flying the Red Devils squad to the German city crashed at the airport, leaving 23 dead, including eight players and three members of the managerial staff.
The tragedy took place on the 6th February 1958 and the whole of Old Trafford paid hommage to the fallen before the match against Crystal Palace. Ten Hag and Patrick Vieira led out their players on to the pitch.
The two managers both carried a wreath and they both laid them down in the centre circle in sign of respect for what happened in Munich, where a golden generation of Red Devils was brought to its end in a very cruel way.
The United fans took out a large banner of the members of the squad which read "We'll never die". Follow live coverage of the game here.
