Spurs make Bournemouth's Iraola as top target if Postecoglou is dismissed

Spurs have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League, but Postecoglou’s position remains under scrutiny, with the club still languishing in 14th place in the Premier League and having no domestic silverware to fight for following their Carabao Cup and FA Cup exits.

Amid the Australian manager's turbulent second season in north London, Tottenham Hotspur have begun their search for a potential replacement to cover their backs. And Andani Iraola has risen as the hottest name should Postecoglou be dismissed, according to 'The Athletic'.

Iraola has become a top priority for the club, who are impressed by the way he has transformed Bournemouth. The Cherries sit 10th in the English top flight standings - 10 points above Spurs - having beaten them 1-0 in December, and then drawn 2-2 earlier this month.

The same source reports that the Spanish manager, appointed by the South coast side in the summer of 2023,  has one year left on his contract. This means Tottenham would have to pay a £10 million release clause if they want to bring him on board.
