Sporting CP fans bid farewell to Man Utd target Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim will soon travel to England to sign a contract with Manchester United. His club, Sporting CP, confirmed that the Red Devils will pay his termination clause of 10 million euros. As the Portuguese are listed on the stock market, they are obliged to notify this. Hence, for Tuesday night's match against Nacional in the League Cup, the fans were aware that their leader was leaving.

On his exit onto the pitch before kick-off, he heard a flourish of applause in the form of a standing ovation. There were also a few timid whistles, but they did not overshadow the general feeling of gratitude for a coach who led his team to its first league title in 19 years and a national domination that has enlivened the championship in the face of so much shared glory between Benfica and Porto.
