Simeone's response to Chelsea's interest in Oblak

According to the English press, Chelsea want to get hold of Jan Oblak and Kepa would go to the Wanda.
Simeone was asked his opinion on this and he said: "It's normal they want a keeper with the characteristics and value Oblak has and I'm not surprised because he's very good. He's vital for us, very important in the dressing room, he's our captain and year after year he has managed to improve in every game. I hope he can stay with us."
Simeone said that at the end of every season the most important players at Atletico are wanted by the biggest clubs in the world.
"It's normal they always look for the best and we have many which are very good, some have left in previous seasons, other have left and it's logical and normal that a footballer like Oblak is wanted by anyone. For us he's our captain, an important player year after year and I hope we can keep on counting on his work which is huge for Atletico Madrid," he added.
Atletico travel to Getafe and then host Real Sociedad on Sunday. Even though they have secured a Champions League place, the coach says that it more "a responsibility" than a success or obligation.
"For us it's a responsibility and when it is done, a goal is achieved. That isn't easy in life. We always have objectives, we prepare, we put effort in, but we can't always achieve them because there are loads of circumstances which can make that not happen," Simeone said.
"You have to set high bars, we are the first to set them. We understand that we are in basically the only major league where two teams are fighting for the league, in England it keeps changing, in France it's only PSG, in Italy only Juve, in Germany only Bayern and here it's between two, Barcelona and Real Madrid," he explained.
"Real Madrid have still won nine games from nine even though Real Madrid were not playing at their best. We have won six and drawn three so they have got six more points than us in nine matches," Simeone continued.
The Argentine coach considered that against these two teams "in direct matches you can win," but "in a long championship you can tell" and recalled that in the last two years Atletico have been second, the three previous years thirs and they won La Liga the previous year, the only team to have won the league outside of Barca and Real Madrid in the past decade.
On Getafe he said that Jose Bordalas' work has been extraordinary and that they have been getting better year and year and getting closer to the Champions League," Simeone pointed out. "I'm sure few teams want to play against Getafe."
The majority of the B team are in Marbella to prepare for the Segunda play-offs against Sabadell. He wished them the best for that match.
On the requests of many clubs asking for their fans to avoid large gatherings, he said the following: "We are all immersed in a situation which we cannot handle and the only thing we can do is look after ourselves, obviously invite everyone to keep taking care, with all the precautions and try and eliminate all type of situations for the common good, which is what we are all interested in," Simeone concluded.
