Spain's National Police has arrested several First and Second Division footballers for allegedly obtaining profits in sports betting, including former Real Madrid player Raúl Bravo, alleged head of the criminal organization, according to 'El Mundo'.
In addition, Borja Fernández, of Real Valladolid, Carlos Aranda, former player of several First Division teams, Samuel Saiz, Getafe player, Deportivo La Coruña's Íñigo López, and former player of Huesca, have also been arrested.
Apparently, they were involved in match fixing for both La Liga and Spain's Second Division, thus obtaining economic benefits through sports betting.
In addition, the source has claimed that Agustín Lasaosa, president of Huesca, and Juan Carlos Galindo Lanuza, head of the medical services of the same club, have also been arrested.
All the detainees are accused of belonging to a criminal organisation, which undertook actions of corruption between private individuals and money laundering.
