Motherwell moved up to 3rd in the league after their 1-0 win against Hearts and Aberdeen's 3-0 loss against Hibernian.

Well are 7 points behind Rangers in 2nd and 9 points behind Celtic after the Old Firm weren't in league action due to their participation in the League Cup.

Chris Long opened the scoring for the Steelemen in the 40th minute as they held on to keep up their fine run of form. Jake Mulraney was sent off for the Jambos in the 2nd minute of second half injury time.

Hibs moved 1 point behind Kilmarnock in 5th after a terrific 3-0 home win against Aberdeen. Martin Boyle got a brace and Florian Kamberi got the other in a miserable afternoon for the Pittodrie outfit.

Livingston stunned highflyers Kilmarnock with a 3-0 win in West Lothian. Livi move 7th, 6 points above the bottom.

St Mirren moved off the foot of the table with a 1-0 win away to Hamilton. Cameron MacPherson got the sole goal as Accies, who are 11th, got Alex Gogic sent off 13 minutes from time.
