Sarri close to becoming Chelsea's new manager

Maurizio Sarri could be on the brink of becoming the new Chelsea manager, with the club hoping to then turn their focus to the transfer market.
According to the 'Daily Mail', the 59-year-old is most likely to sign a two-year deal with the club, with the option of a third year on the table. This would bring the end to Antonio Conte's time in charge.
Chelsea are believed to be forking out around £4.5million to release Sarri from his current club Napoli, after disputes about contracts slowed down transfer activity.
They are yet to sign or sell a player but the transfer window offers them the opportunity to strengthen the team which will be targeting Champions League qualification next season.
If the deal goes through, Sarri could target his old club for players. One potential player he could bring with him is defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who the 'Blues' have had their eyes on before.
Striker Dries Mertens, also currently at Napoli, could also be a summer signing option, alongside Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.
The lack of Champions League football for Chelsea could cost them in contract tralks, with new players wanting large bonuses for getting them back into Europe's football elite.
Chelsea players who are not part of the World Cup are believed to be due back at Cobham for pre-season on July 9 but have not been told who will be in charge.
Sarri's italian connections could prove valuable for Chelsea as they look to attract some new blood to Stamford Bridge for the coming season.
