The fact that he no longer plays for Barcelona has not put an end to the whole mess of Neymar's transfer to Barca in 2013. Seven years on from his transfer, there are still some unresolved issues.
'El Mundo' confirmed on Tuesday that Santos sent an urgent fax to Barcelona to request 4.5 million euros that they consider they are due after a friendly match between the sides that was agreed in Neymar's transfer still hasn't been played.
The Brazilian outfit insist that both sides only played the match in the Joan Gamper Trophy in 2013, but not the one that they had agreed would take place in Brazil.
Santos' offer- the payment of 4.5 million euros- is intended to avoid another lawsuit against Barca, who will now never be able to play the friendly with Neymar in their ranks, as the player left for PSG in 2017.
The aforementioned source reminded that, in that year, Santos already announced that they would get 13.4 million euros after Neymar moved to France.
This amount would have been broken down in the following: 8.9 million for the 5% sell-on clause from Neymar's move to PSG and 4.5 million for the friendly match that wasn't played and that they are now claiming from Barcelona.
