The Egypt international added the award to his PFA Player of the Year and his Football Writers' Player of the Year gongs, securing the illustrious hat-trick in England.
Salah has had an incredible campagin in his first season with the 'Reds', scoring 43 goals and sending Jurgen Klopp's side to the Champions League final on May 26.
Just in the Premier League, Salah is leading the Golden Boot (31), three ahead of Tottenham's Harry Kane (28) going into the final league games of the season.
Without his contribution, Liverpool would be languishing further down the table and Salah spoke of his delight about being given the award.
He told the Premier League's official website: "I am very happy, I am very proud to win it. They say I didn't have success here the first time, so it was always in my mind to have success here in the Premier League."
Salah won the award after receiving the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and fans via a public vote.
