Saka sends message after injury concern in Arsenal's win over Real Madrid

"We asked and you gave us everything, thank you! Same energy in Madrid, job’s not finished!" wrote the 23-year-old on his social media platforms after Arsenal's huge 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Bukayo Saka started for the first time in over three months as the Gunners stunned the 15-time winners after making two appearances off the bench against Fulham and Everton. The Englishman had been dealt with a hamstring injury suffered on December 21 against Crystal Palace.

But the jubilation from supporters following Declan Rice's free kicks and Mikel Merino's strike also came with a piece of bad news as Saka was forced to hobble off the pitch after being hit with a fitness issue. The winger received treatment before being replaced by Kieran Tierney in the 74th minute.

That said, Saka's message is perhaps a reassurance that there is not much to worry about ahead of the next week's second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Arsenal will hope to convert their massive advantage to seal a place in the semi-finals against one of Aston Villa or Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta also confirmed Saka was "fine" while speaking post-match. "He's fine, I think it was a kick on the free-kick action. He elevates the level of the team. It's a fear factor every time he's on the ball because he's a real threat," the Spaniard told 'Prime Video'.
