Rooney is a living legend in English football and he is still going strong. In his new adventure at Derby County, he scored another great free-kick and his shot was precise and he surprised the opposing goalkeeper Butland.
He did so in the encounter his side won 4-0 against Stoke City and also gave an assist. The free-kick was just outside the box which made the strike more difficult: he had to hit with pinpoint accuracy and not hit too hard.
That is what specialists are for and the striker did what he does best: score goals. He prepared himself, lifted his head and with a small run up, he shot with the inside of the foot. It went up and over the wall before dipping and going in the goal.
The goalkeeper had no chance of reaching it. Derby's players were delighted with the strike and it was an added bonus for the fans who saw their team thrash Stoke.
