"Ronaldo was not indispensable for La Liga"

"It is clear that I would prefer to see him in La Liga, as I would like Mourinho or Guardiola here, but he is not indispensable, in fact, it almost does not affect us at all", he said in an interview with the French newspaper L'Équipe.

Tebas insisted that a lot of work has been done to ensure that the Spanish top flight has not suffered too much damage in the wake of the departure of such a high calibre player.

"I can highlight the Premier League, which has not had a Champions League or Ballon D'Or winner, but as a brand is extremely strong," he added.

In a visit to the French capital to attend the sporting foum 'Sport Summit Innovation', he told 'Le Parisien' of his desire for PSG to be sanctioned, for not respecting Financial Fair Play rules, but he did doubt whether UEFA would take action. 

"I am skeptical", said Tebas , who made a point of saying that he was not obesssed with the Parisian team, because he also denounced the conduct of English side Manchester City in regards to the UEFA ruling.

Tebas underlined the fact that although the clubs were in breach, it was UEFA's decision, "A club that has cheated should not play the Champions League", and he also lamented that such strategies pose a risk to the future of football.

The president concluded "I want football to be economically balanced, that there is no short cut to becoming a great club, because that endagers the global economic structure of football".
