Ronaldo wants to sign Fernando Hierro for Al-Nassr

The Saudi Arabian League is not only signing players and coaches, but also managers. Ramon Planes has already taken the reins at Al-Ittihad and Fernando Hierro could soon land at Al-Nassr.

According to 'Marca', he turned down an offer from the Saudi club in January and negotiations have been reignited by a recommendation from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese sees him as the ideal man for the job as he appreciates how much he has achieved in his career both as a footballer and as a manager. At the top level, he has been at the helm of the Spanish national team and Malaga but currently manages Chivas Guadalajara.

Even so, Saudi Arabia wants him and it is thought that talks could come to fruition. After leaving Real Madrid, he played for Al-Rayyan in Qatar during the 2003/04 season, where he made 19 appearances and scored three goals.

He then signed for Bolton Wanderers, who provided the ideal backdrop for him to retire in style and with the satisfaction of having played in a couple more countries than his homeland.
