Atletico Madrid's star midfielder Rodri has told the club that he wants to leave the club, opening the door for Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Both clubs are more than willing to pay the £62.5million release clause, after the 22 year old asked for time to consider his future.
Atletico Madrid offered the Spaniard a new contract, but he has now told Atletico's club president that he plans to sign for Manchester City in the summer, and link up with Pep Guardiola.
Rodri played 47 times for Atletico this season, scoring on 3 occasions and assisting once, winning the UEFA Super Cup, but he is now looking to seek a move away.
Atletico seem destined to lose several players in the summer, with Antoine Griezmann, Diego Godin, Jan Oblak and Filipe Luis all likely to move, whilst Lucas Hernandez has already sealed his move to Bayern Munich. They therefore appear to be active in the transfer market and seem destined to sign Joao Felix in the coming days, with more surely to follow.
