PSG's wage bill is almost 40% of that of Ligue 1

PSG have beaten their own record when it comes to the wage bill, 629 million euros, which is 37% of Ligue 1's total. That total is 1.7 billion euros, according to 'L'Equipe.
The paper says that the club say it is around 585 million euros, including the handball and judo sections of the club.
In any case, the data shows that the arrival of players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Georgino Wijnaldum have significantly increased the French side's wage bill.
Last season it was around 500 million, while in the 2019-20 season, it was 414 million. In 2018-19 it was 370 million. 'L'Equipe' says that it is the largest wage bill out of any European football club.
The stats are eyewatering: in just one year, the club's wage bill has gone up 126 million euros, a direct consequence of the signings of the players previously mentioned. That is without counting that they have been offering Kylian Mbappe a new contract for months.
That said, 'AS' reports that they are not in danger of breaking FFP rules. The Spanish media outlet said that the major shareholder in the club will increase the club's capital and that way avoid possible sanctions.
