PSG juggling options for coach, Luis Enrique & Nagelsmann favourites
PSG ended their season with a surprising at-home defeat to newly promoted side Clermont (3-2). This match was the send-off for Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, who will not have their contracts renewed and will leave the French side at the end of June.
However, it seems that the Argentinian and the Frenchman will not be the only ones bidding Paris goodbye. 'L'Equipe' reported a few days ago that the board had also made the decision to dismiss Christophe Galtier next season, which means they need to find themselves a replacement.
Despite the dismissal not being made official, the Parisian side, lead by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Luis Campo, want to find a manager to lead the rebuild of the squad and put the club back among the best in Europe.
So, according to 'AS', the favourite to take the reins of the project is Luis Enrique, who has been without a job since he left the Spanish National Team. PSG aren't the only ones eyeing him up though, Napoli are also looking to bring him over.
The second on the list is Julian Nagelsmann, former Bayern coach, who was dismissed rather dramatically earlier this season. The young coach could take the role with Thierry Henry as his assistant.
Finally, as backup options, the board has also listed Roma's Jose Mourinho and Bologna's Thiago Motta as candidates for the role. However it appears the preferred option would definitely be Enrique or Nagelsmann, and it seems the Parisian giants are looking to make a quick decision.
