Possible line-ups for Celta v Real Madrid
Fran Escriba's Celta Vigo and Zidane's Real Madrid meet on Saturday 17th August at 5pm at the Abanca Balaidos stadium in both team's opening game.
The home side will go out a classic 4-4-2 and will be without Hugo Mallo, Junca and Santi Mina since they are injured while Sergio Alvarez and Yokuslu are doubts.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will also play a 4-4-2, will be missing Marco Asensio, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo Goes while the Welsh striker Gareth Bale and the Costa Rican keeper Keylor Navas are doubts.
Zidane will be able to play Brahim Diaz who has fully recovered from his muscle injury after completing part of the training sessions with the rest of the squad. That said, the Frenchman could reserve the man from Malaga to avoid complications.
In addition, Dani Carvajal will finally play after having his ban for getting his fifth yellow of the season on the final day of last term overturned. In fact, he was officially pardoned by the Spanish Federation president along with five other players as the president wants to scrap the rule. Only players sent off on the last day of last season would serve suspensions this term. As a result, he will now play.
Possible Celta line-up:
Rubén Blanco; Kevin Vázquez, Joseph Aidoo, Araujo, Olaza; Brais Méndez, Lobotka, Fran Beltrán, Denis Suárez; Gabriel Fernández and Aspas.
Possible Real Madrid line-up: (before Carvajal was allowed to play)
Courtois; Éder Militao, Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Isco Alarcón; Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema.
