According to a report by 'Sportsmail', England boss Gareth Southgate is planning to introduce Pope after the break, in what would mark his first international appearance for his country.
If Pope is brought on, and with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to feature aswell in the friendly, then England would be heading into the World Cup in Russia with no uncapped players in their squad.
The 26-year-old became the Clarets' first-choice shotstopper after their usual pick for number one, Tom Heaton, suffered an injury. Pope has been selected for England over veteran Joe Hart in what tops of a meteoric rise this season.
Pope will be third-choice at the World Cup, behind Stoke City's Jack Butland and Everton's Jordan Pickford, with all three goalkeepers having earned just ten caps between them.
