Panic stations in Brazil: Alves could miss the World Cup

Dani Alves' spot in Brazil's World Cup squad is in danger. An injury to the ligaments in his right knee could keep him out for a while, and with the Russia World Cup getting closer and closer, Alves is in danger of missing out.

PSG have not released any statement over the specifics of the defender's injury, however Rodrigo Lasmar, the Brazil national side's chief doctor, quickly got in contact with PSG's medical team to find out their assessment. 

Alves will be examined on Friday in the American Hospital of Paris to find out the extent of the problem in his knee. That being said, Alves' compatriot Marquinhos said that the right-back was "walking well" after the France Cup clash.

However, the countdown to the World Cup is fast advancing, with only 36 days remaining until the first ball is kicked. Alves will have to recover quickly if he is to be involved.
