"Over the years I started to think, 'Will I ever win a title?"

After a 15-year career and more than 400 goals, Harry Kane was finally able to add the first title to his trophy cabinet. The Englishman does not want anyone to take its value away from him, even if it is a Bundesliga with Bayern. In a wide-ranging interview with ‘The Times’, the striker spoke about what this triumph means to him on a psychological and personal level.
"I knew perfectly well that I hadn't won any titles. Believe me, I put more pressure on myself than anyone else has. Over the years I started to think, ‘will it ever happen,’" recounted the striker, who continued, "I give all the credit to my resilience in the face of the things I've had to put up with during my career. I just kept pushing forward, waiting for the good things to come, and they're finally here."
"Let's see what they talk about now. I'm sure they'll find something to throw in my face," claimed a Kane who has indeed been through all sorts of hardships to get here. In his career he has lost several finals, including two European Championship finals and one Champions League final. That makes him appreciate what it means even more.
"It's great to be on the other side. I've been unlucky to see other teams lift trophies in front of me and it's difficult because as a sportsman and as a competitor you want to be in that place. With England we lost two finals, which was already a great achievement because we hadn't got there in our recent history. But when you lose a final it's a shame because you can't celebrate after all the hard work you've done with your team," he explained.
