Optimism over Dembele's renewal and pessimism over Sterling's arrival

Days are going by and Barca are still very alert to what is happening in their squad and with regards to possible reinforcements in January. The arrivals of Xavi and Dani Alves have brought about a climate of optimism at Barcelona ahead of the coach's first game in that charge. That is also the case with the board.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', there is a good chance Ousmane Dembele will renew. The Frenchman is happy with Xavi because the former Barca player wants wingers to be key for his team. 

Although the club are still suspicious about his agent Moussa Sissoko, an enigmatic character who is difficult to understand in the world of football, the general feeling is that the French international is going to renew. 

It is also thought, according to the same source, that Dani Alves' return will help Dembele much more both on the field of play and when it comes to making such an important decision in his career. 

Although the French star is set to continue, there is another important move with regards to the future which is not going so well at Barcelona. Apparently, Financial Fair Play rules mean Sterling will struggle to join the club in January. 

Barcelona are still sturggling to sell some players and the departure of these players is needed for a footballer of Sterling's salary to come. 

In addition, the growing interest in Sterling in other teams in the Premier League like Arsenal make all moves difficult. It seems certain that he will leave a Man City side where he is getting less and less game time, but it seems very difficult, at least in January, for him to end up at Barca.
