The Premier League announced two new positive tests for coronavirus after 996 new tests were carried out, taking the number of people with COVID-19 in the Premier League to eight.
In a statement published on their official website, the Premier League announced there had been two new cases of coronavirus amongst its clubs, although the names and clubs were involved were kept secret.
But just a few hours later, Bournemouth confirmed that one of the positive results came from a member of their squad.
“AFC Bournemouth can confirm that one of its players has tested positive for COVID-19, following the club’s second round of testing. In line with Premier League protocol regarding positive tests, he will self-isolate for a period of seven days before being tested again at a later date,” the club’s statement read.
