OFFICIAL: Vardy's 13-year Leicester legacy to end this summer

Vardy, who turned 38 in January, joined Leicester in 2012 from non-league Fleetwood for a mere £1 million. Since then, he has etched his name into the history books, becoming a club icon and arguably Leicester's greatest-ever player.

His heroics were pivotal in Leicester's unlikely 2015/16 Premier League triumph, a campaign that saw him crowned Player of the Season for his stellar performances. Additionally, Vardy played a significant role in helping the Foxes secure their first-ever FA Cup in 2021, and he won the Golden Boot in 2020.

Although Vardy is nearing his 39th birthday, he has expressed his desire to continue playing beyond his 40th year, and despite the club's struggles this season, which culminated in relegation to the Championship, he remained a key figure in their attack.

He scored eight goals in 32 appearances and continued to lead the line, demonstrating resilience even amid the club's challenging times.

His contract expires this summer, and should he feature in Leicester's remaining matches, he will reach a remarkable milestone of 500 appearances for the club. He currently stands at 198 goals, with the prospect of reaching 200 still within his grasp.

As Leicester's relegation was confirmed on April 20 following a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, Vardy shared an emotional message on social media, taking responsibility for the club's downfall.
