The Bundesliga outfit have confirmed that they have got Ilaix Moriba from Barcelona.

Ilaix Moriba wanted to go to Germany and he has got his wish. RB Leipzig have announced the signing of the former Barca footballer.

The 18 year-old broke into the Barca first team under Ronald Koeman last season, but things went pearshaped when he had an argument with the club as he wanted a pay rise in his contract. The midfielder's contract was expiring in summer 2022 and so Barca have got rid of him now so they can get some money for him.

Barcelona have confirmed that the fee is 16 million euros, plus six million in add-ons. The Catalans also have the right to keep 10% of a future sale. "FC Barcelona publically thanks Ilaix Moriba for his commitment and dedication and wishes him lots of luck and success in the future," the La Liga outfit said in a statement.

Ilaix made 22 appearances for the first team, 16 of them starts, and he scored two goals. He also assisted on one occasion.

He could make his debut for his new club in the home game with Bayern Munich on 11th September at 18:30 CEST.
