Lecce confirmed in an official statement that they have decided to sack their coach, Roberto d'Aversa, for head-butting Hellas Verona's Thomas Henry in this weekend's Serie A match between the two sides. Already on Sunday night, the club had issued a statement condemning his attitude, which has led to him being sacked even though he has a contract until the end of the season.
