OFFICIAL: Inter sign Akanji on loan from Man City with option to buy

The deal includes a €2 million loan fee, with the Italian giants also covering part of the player's salary during his stay at San Siro.
As part of the agreement, Inter hold a €15 million option to buy Akanji on a permanent basis next summer. That clause will automatically become mandatory if the 30-year-old features in at least 50 per cent of the club's matches this season.
The experienced defender joins Cristian Chivu's squad to provide further depth and stability in defence, following a period of rotation at Manchester City, where competition for places has been fierce.
The centre-back's versatility and composure on the ball are seen as valuable assets for Inter's push to remain dominant both domestically and in Europe.
Supporters at San Siro will now be eager to see how the Swiss international adapts to Serie A in what could become a long-term move.
