OFFICIAL: Chelsea secure Mamadou Sarr in long-term deal

Sarr, aged 19, was a key figure for Strasbourg throughout the 2024/25 season, playing a pivotal role as the team earned qualification for European competition next term.
The French centre-back enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1 during the 2024/25 season, making 28 appearances in all competitions. His performances helped the club claim seventh place in the league and earn a spot in the UEFA Conference League play-off round.
Sarr, a France Under-20 international, began his development at RC Lens before moving to Lyon, where he progressed through the youth ranks and made his senior debut towards the end of the 2022/23 season.
After a brief spell in the first team, he gained further experience on loan at Belgian side RWD Molenbeek. He joined Strasbourg in August 2024 and swiftly became a regular starter, impressing with his composure and maturity in defence despite his age.
With his move to Stamford Bridge now confirmed, Sarr becomes the latest addition to Chelsea's long-term project focused on developing young talent.
