After impressing in the first part of his loan spell from Barcelona, Paco Alcacer is now a Borussia Dortmund player on a permanent basis.

After a brilliant start to an initial loan spell , Paco Alcacer has put pen to paper on a permanent deal with German club Borussia Dortmund. 

The striker only joined the Bundesliga outfit from FC Barcelona in the summer, on a year long loan deal with an option to buy.

But after having already notched 9 goals in 8 appearances the Westfalenstadion side; including the winning goal in 'Der Klassiker' against arch rivals Bayern Munich, Alcacer has signed the new five year deal. 

In arguably one of the best deals of the season, Dortmund have secured the services of the Spaniard, who has been involved in a goal every 44 minutes, until at least 2023. 

Upon the announcement of the deal, Alcacer spoke to the official Borussia Dortmund website. 

Of the news, he said: "I am very happy in Dortmund, at BVB and in this wonderful team. Borussia Dortmund was and is exactly the right decision for me. I will do everything I can to say thank you for your trust through my performance!"

Director of football for Dortmund, Micheal Zorc, has expressed his delight that an agreement had been reached between club and player. 

He told the official club website: "We have today informed FC Barcelona of our desire to take up the purchase option. Paco is wholeheartedly with us, he has quickly integrated and has become an integral part of our squad."

Zorc continued: "He is a footballer of top goalscoring quality, which has already proved decisive for us. We look forward to many more goals and assists from Paco in the coming years."
