After several months of rumours, the news which was practically an open secret was confirmed a week ago: Antoine Griezmann's move to Barcelona.
The French footballer is spending his first days as a Barca player and at the moment he seems to be adapting perfectly to a team which is forming a squad which will go down in history.
And the thing is Griezmann joins a club which has the likes of Messi, Suarez, Alba, Pique and De Jong.
"We have a great team, with great players and then the gaffer, who has to choose the eleven men which play. We will try to enjoy as much as possible to make the fans happy," Griezmann said in an interview with 'Marca'.
The ex-Atletico footballer started by explaining what signing for the Catalans meant to him. "When the deal was done, I called my Dad and I cried out of happiness. I was with my friends, my wife, my children... It was something incredible," he admitted.
The French international went on to say what he expects from his time at Barca in which he will play with Messi and Suarez. He is yet to train with them as they are both on holiday. That said, Griezmann hopes to get on well with them.
"It will be nice to play with Leo. I'm very keen to see how day to day life is, in training, pick up things in every practice session... that way we will get to know each other better on and off the pitch. Luis is also a very great player. He guarantees you goals and titles. I will try to give him lots of assists and that he also gives them to me. We will get on perfectly," the new number 17 continued.
Griezmann is the club's most recent transfer and up to now, the one with the biggest name although that could change shortly.
That is because the possible return of Neymar is being talked about more and more every day, but his arrival would not be a problem for the Frenchman. He praised the Brazilian.
"If Neymar ends up coming, he will make things very difficult for the boss. He would add more competition to the group which is good. He is a really top player. I know him a bit. We will see what happens," he said on the PSG player.
Griezmann also spoke about how well he had been received in the dressing room after rumours that there could be tension because of his rejection last summer.
"Everything is going very well here. I have been received fantastically both by the players and the coaching staff. They are there to help me if I have any problems. The other day I had dinner with Jordi Alba. These are little things which help to mix in with the group," he continued.
Lastly, Griezmann spoke about the celebration he has planned for when he scores his first goal at the Camp Nou. "I have already got one prepared. The Fortnite one is history. I hope it all goes well although first I have to score a goal," he concluded.
