Despite only having made one Premier League appearance for Chelsea, 18 year old Ethan Ampadu has impressed Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock enough for the veteran manager to want the prospect on loan in January.
Ampadu has impressed in the International break, winning his third and fourth caps for Wales. His composure on the ball and ability to play in defence or midfield have impressed Warnock, who now wants to expose the youngster to more Premier League action.
"What I like about him is that he is so confident," said Warnock of Ampadu in his press conference before Cardiff's game against Ampadu's current employers, Chelsea.
"He plays the game simple. He will have to quicken up a little bit when he gets higher up because he will get caught.
"He will get that by playing games. When you play with the type of players he has to play with it does help with his education.
"They have good players who could do with playing - and if they could get a game in the Premier League I think it would help their development.
"I will be speaking to somebody at Chelsea about one or two things."
