Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez underlined the difficulties of the current season in the draw against Villarreal despite the many casualties they had in the match at La Ceramica.
"We had very important and numerous casualties and it is not easy to face the matches. The team has stepped up to the challenge. We were on the verge of winning. There is nothing to blame the players for," the Real Madrid centre-back told Movistar 'LaLiga'.
"We are in a complicated season. No team is 100% reliable. It is necessary to consider that we come almost of splicing with the previous season and the one that is a little better will come the League", said Nacho.
The Real Madrid defender highlighted the good first half of his team although he admitted that after the break they had more difficulties. "We wanted to win the match. We played a solid first half. Villarreal didn't have a chance. In the second half we opened up more and they got to us but not too much. Just enough to achieve a draw," said the Real Madrid player.
Nacho did not justify having lost two points in the losses. "We have a team to face all the matches. In the end we made some changes that have helped us, but I stay with the first part, we were very good, very united", he emphasised.
The centre back regretted the "bad luck with the penalties". "We have no luck with those . The other day three and this Saturday another that takes away two important points. We have to work on it and make sure it doesn't happen again", he said.
