Carlo Ancelotti brought Luka Modric with him as the two spoke to the press on Tuesday, ahead of the second leg of the UCL semi-final. The Croatian international seemed positive as he spoke about the team's preparations for Wednesday night.
"We've played this kind of match before - finals, seminfinals - and what I see in my teammates and coaches is confidence", he commented. Madrid opened the scoring in the first half of the first leg and held on to their lead well, until Kevin De Bruyne put away the equaliser for Man City in the 67th minute, and the game ended 1-1.
"I hope we can play a great game and continue on to the final, which would be something very impressive," he added, "the most important thing about this team is that we're in this together, we fight for each other".
The Croatian has been at the club since 2012 and has over 100 G/A in all competitions. He noted the importance of "unity between the young players and us, the veterans".
Everything will be decided as the giants go head-to-head for the second time on Wednesday at the Etihad, and Madrid aim for their 17th Champions League final.
