Militao unleashes 30-yard screamer to break the deadlock against Espanyol

Real Madrid took the lead after 20 minutes with what is likely to be the goal of the week, and a contender for goal of the season. Eder Militao, not known for his prowess in front of goal, stepped up to make it 1-0.
After a cagey start with both teams probing but failing to create clear-cut chances, Eder Militao tried his luck with a shot from over 30 yards that nestled in the top corner of Marko Dmitrovic's net.
The Brazilian received the ball far from the area, but well into the opposition's half, cut inside and unleashed a right-footed missile that gave the Espanyol goalkeeper no chance.
It's Militao's first goal in almost a year in a competitive match. The Brazilian centre-back, who was sidelined through injury last season, last scored in the derby against Atlético de Madrid on 29 September 2024.
