Mega-bid puts Paulinho's Barca future in doubt

Accordig to 'Mundo Deportivo', Paulinho's agent Kia Joorabchian recently swung presented club officials with a €50m offer for his client from an unnamed club.

The news has put the Brazilian's future in Catalonia in doubt, with the club of the opinion that if his representative is presenting the deal, it is because the player has given it the green light.

Paulinho arrived at the Camp Nou just a year ago to a sea of cynicism, with few believing that a player coming from the Chinese Super League was worth the €40m Barca invested in him.

However, a year later, the 29-year-old has demonstrated his worth to the Spanish giants, with his ability to drive into the opposition half and make late runs into the box eventually proving vital in Barca's double-winning side.

although the club are expecting his to return for pre-season, they are thought to be looking into selling a man who will soon turn 30 for €10m more than they paid just 12 months ago.

With Clement Lenglet and Arthur expect to join the club imminently, Barca could to with cashing in on someone to ensure their net spend does not get too out of hand.
