Chelsea's start to the Premier League season is just around the corner, but not for Marcos Alonso. The Spanish full-back asked his coach to not play against Everton as his move to Barcelona is closer than ever before, according to 'Sport'.
The player seemed to be at Thomas Tuchel's disposition, but he prefers not to take a risk. After the arrival of Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, the Blues now have the left flank covered with the recent signing as well as Ben Chilwell so that could see Alonso miss the first Premier League game.
Alonso's patience seems to be tireless. His signing for the Catalan side has been spoken about since the end of last season and it seems like, finally, he sees light at the end of the tunnel. If this deal is confirmed, Marcos knows that he will be officially out of action for several weeks because Barca cannot register the five signings, which were announced some days back, and he will give them priority.
Last season, the Spaniard played a total of 48 matches, he scored five goals and he gave six assists. So far in pre-season, he played the four matches and he could only assist on one occasion.
