Marcelo out of Sevilla game; Benzema, Nacho and Mendy also doubts

Marcelo ended up getting injured in the Champions League match against Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu, has an muscle injury in his left adductor muscle. He will miss Sunday's game against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Karim Benzema, Ferland Mendy and Nacho Fernandez are all doubts.
The intensity of the Champions League quarter-final second leg has taken its toll on the Real Madrid squad. The effort in knocking out Chelsea after extra-time after Chelsea had turned the tie on its head, has left several players out.
Ancelotti has problems at left-back. Mendy reappeared without being 100% after overworking his muscle and he had to go off injured. His replacement, Marcelo, ended extra-time with a muscle injury in his left adductor muscle.
Ahead of an MRI scan to confirm the extent of the muscle injury, the initial news from Real Madrid's medics confirmed the injury.
Nacho Fernandez had to go off with muscle fatigue and how he develops will be looked at on Thursday. He is a doubt for Sunday's game in Sevilla. In the meantime, Benzema made an effort to end the game, with strong cramps and he will rest in order to recover quickly.
Real Madrid are resting on Wednesday and on Maundy Thursday which is when they will start preparing for the trip to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. They begin training at 11am at Valdebebas.
Ancelotti will study the state of his players to make changes in a starting XI which has been badly affected after the European game.
He will definitely be without Casemiro (suspended) and Marcelo and Hazard who are both injured. Vallejo will be absent after testing positive for coronavirus while Isco, Benzema, Mendy and Nacho are all doubts while Militao will return after missing the Champions League game.
