Manchester United confirm Diego Leon signing

Manchester United have completed the signing of Paraguayan youngster Diego Leon, an 18-year-old full-back arriving from Cerro Porteno, where he made 33 professional appearances and scored four goals.
"This is what I dreamt of as a child," the player confessed to reporters before boarding his flight at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, serving Asunción, the Paraguayan capital.
"I'm going there with the mentality to attack the pre-season. I'm going to smash pre-season and be playing with them within one or two games," he added. In December 2024, Cerro Porteno and Manchester United finalised the transfer of León for approximately four million dollars, when the Paraguayan was still 17 years old.
The agreement stipulated that Leon would join the English side in July 2025 upon turning 18. Ruben Amorim now has a new left-back at his disposal, ready to unleash his talent in the Premier League.
