The world of football was rocked by news on Sunday night of a European Super League which could change football forever. The European Super League would compete with the Champions League and fans are also fuming. They are angry that money is coming ahead of performances.
Man City have confirmed that they have left the European Super League.
'The Guardian' says that Chelsea are also thinking of doing a U-turn and pulling out of the Super League.
There has been significant anger from supporters and a possible U-turn was mentioned by UEFA at Montreux on Tuesday.
'The Guardian' says that UEFA believes that some of the teams will back the Super League regardless because of financial reasons.
The 'BBC's Dan Roan reports that Chelsea are now preparing documentation to withdraw from the European Super League.
There are also reports from journalists such as Ben Jacobs that Atletico Madrid are thinking of leaving the Super League as well. Barcelona, Man Utd and Arsenal could also leave and Man Utd chief executive Ed Woodward is to resign at the end of 2021.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino warned of the consequences clubs must face if they decide to leave UEFA. They have responded by offering more money in the Champions League.
