Man arrested and charged after slapping Grealish at Manchester derby

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly slapping Jack Grealish at the Manchester derby. The incident is said to have happened as the Englishman was making his way to the tunnel following Sunday's 0-0 draw between Man United and Man City.
According to 'Mail Sport', the 29-year-old was struck in the face by a member of the crowd at the bottom of the Stretford End. Grealish is not believed to have been seriously injured following the assault, but a police investigation was triggered nonetheless.
The perpetrator was subsequently charged with assault and will appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court in July. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: 'Alfie Holt, 20, of Haven Drive, Droylsden, has been charged with assault. He will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court."
Both Manchester sides have declined to comment on the matter, with the same source reporting that United are working closely with the police. Grealish was not the only City star to experience an ugly incident as Phil Foden was relentlessly taunted with chants referencing his mother by the home fans.
City boss Guardiola voiced his anger post-match, insisting that the derogatory chants showed 'a lack of class'. He said: "Lack of class. But it's not United, it's the people, you know? We are so exposed, people who are on the screen in world football - managers, owners, and football players especially."
