Madrid's Ancelotti sues former club Everton in high court

Carlo Ancelotti is suing Everton in London's high court. The coach was in charge for 18 months at Goodison Park between December 2019 and June 2021, before he returned to Real Madrid, where he remains manager.
According to court records, the Italian's claim was filed on Friday and relates to "general commercial contracts and arrangements". 'Daily Mail' reports that there was a dispute between Ancelotti and the club over a tax issue linked to a £2 million bonus payment made to him.
Neither Ancelotti's lawyers nor Everton have responded to requests for comments. The claim hits the Toffees who have been in a series of financical struggles in recent years and who are facing upheaval behind the scenes.
On the day that Ancelotti's claim emerged, 'The Guardian' reports that three directors left the club, and chairman Bill Kenwright may also be preparing to leave very soon.
