Madrid considered Xavi Simons before PSV transfer

Xavi Simons left PSG without renewing, but with a mysterious buy-back clause in favor of the Parisians on his way to PSV, but he could have signed with Real Madrid. L'Équipe' claims that 'Los Blancos' worked on signing him when they learned that he was not going to renew his contract at the Parc des Princes.
The youngster rejected Madrid's proposal because he would have joined the 'Castilla de Raul Gonzalez', rather than the first team. This is the route that other footballers took, such as Vinicius or Casemiro, who are currenty key players for Carlo Ancelotti. Yet, the Dutchman did not want to wait and prefered a move to the Eredivisie.
The player's wish makes sense, since he spent several years developing at PSG and was searching for a challenge as a professional, not as a promising or developing youth player. That is why he opted for PSV, where he will be able to challenge for first team football in his native country.
Real Madrid's attempt to sign Xavi Simons fits in with the sporting vision that the board, led by Florentino Pérez, has been working on. The emissaries of the club have been opting for young players with high potential and the signings of Camavinga and Tchouaméni are evidence of this.
