Atlético Madrid managed to convince Luis Suárez to join the team in the summer. The Uruguayan was the most charismatic signing, but there was an important clause to convince him.
'Marca' revealed that Atlético Madrid included an option that means the Uruguayan could leave the club at the end of the first season, 30th June 2021.
Thus, Luis Suárez could pack his bags without anyone having to pay, and despite being under contract, if he wished to do so. This is an option that isn't going through his head at the moment, the aforementioned source informs.
"We did not want to have a player of this level without being fully committed", they assured from the club when asked about his clause.
For now, Suárez is at ease in the Atlético ranks. He feels important under Diego Simeone and he has become the best of the best team in Europe.
The striker is focussed on the rest of the season, with a unique option to win the league and in the Champions League last 16.
'Marca' also recalls that it isn't the first time that Atlético have included a clause of this type, as they did so with David Villa, who ended up going to Melbourne City.
