Time goes by and Kylian Mbappe's future is less and less clear. The French star's contract at PSG ends this summer and he has two possible options on the horizon.
After months being linked with most of Europe, finally, with a month and a half left of the season, Real Madrid and PSG are the clubs to have been most linked with the 23 year-old.
Staying at the Parc des Princes this season is one of the possibilities that the former Monaco player is studying. But there is also the option of him going to the Santiago Bernabeu and starting a new adventure at Real Madrid.
Mbappe was asked about his future when he received the award from the French footballer's sindicate as the best player in Ligue 1. During the ceremony, the PSG player responded to questions over his future for next season by saying that his decision "has almost been made."
But the intense battle between PSG and Real Madrid for one of the most sought after strikers at the moment has seen another club enter the fray. They are Liverpool.
The Premier League side have shown interest in Mbappe a couple of months ago and Miguel Delaney, in his weekly newsletter for 'The Independent', has once again talked about Liverpool signing the French striker.
Nothing has yet to be agreed with Real Madrid
The well known newspaper says that Mbappe's future is "in the balance" and nothing has been "signed or agreed" with Real Madrid or PSG so that gives the English club hope. 'L'Equipe' mentioned a few days back that Liverpool were the latest candidate in the fight for Kylian.
And the reason for this new option as a PSG player is directly related to Real Madrid's demands. They insist on having 50% of Mbappe's image rights. "Mbappe's agents do not want to cede so much and the player's inner circle believes that Madrid have made a mistake by making this request," Delaney wrote.
In addition, he says that in order for Liverpool to get the Frenchman, they would have to sell Salah or Mane first. Both the Egyptian and the Senegalese see their contracts expire in summer 2023 and talks over a new deal do not seem to be going well.
