Liverpool aim to raise 70 million from player sales

Liverpool are looking to lighten their squad this summer to accommodate new signings. The 'exit process' has already begun, but there is still a lot of work to be done. The board are hoping to raise around 70 million euros.

Taiwo Awoniyi and Marko Grujic have already left the Reds, but there are many more players who are expendable in Jürgen Klopp's plans. They are centre-back Nat Phillips, right-back Neco Williams, midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, winger Harry Wilson and striker Divock Origi.

Liverpool have already raised €18.5 million, but are hoping to raise that amount to €70 million. A difficult challenge, as the aforementioned five have a combined valuation of just €31 million.

That is to say, right now, sticking to the market value, Liverpool would barely raise 50 million euros, only ten more than what they have spent on Ibrahima Konaté. They will have to play their cards right if they want to make a profit in the transfer market.
