Liverpool have made their first signing for next season. The 'Reds' have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig over the signing of 22-year-old defender Ibrahima Konate. The move is an important one for Liverpool, which also confirms that they will no longer be relying on Kabak's services, who had arrived to fill Van Dijk's spot in the team.
Konate will touch down in Merseyside to try and improve this area of the pitch for Klopp's side, and the idea is that he will become Van Dijk's partner once the Dutchman becomes available following his serious knee injury.
The now ex-RB Leipzig player had a release clause in his contract with the German side, which Liverpool reportedly triggered for the price of 40 million euros - according to reports from 'ESPN'. This reflects a fairly respectable sum for the English club, who are looking ahead to the future.
"I am very happy to join such a great club. It's a very emotional moment for myself and my family. I am very excited and I know I will be joining one of the best teams in the world", Konate said in his first words as a Liverpool player.

The centre-back wanted to thank RB Leipzig for his opportunities and the confidence they showed him to enable him to make this great move: "Their support helped me grow there and become a better player, as well as a better person. I will always be grateful to them".
Konate will arrive at Anfield having made 21 appearances this season, which he started 14 of them. He also managed to score one goal, but this doesn't reflect the player's best season. In the 2018/19 campaign he played 43 matches, 41 as a starter.
