"10 minutes in, an opponent stepped on his foot, but Benzema as always didn't say anything, he played the whole match in pain and even scored! After the game, the doctor gave him 5 stitches in the locker room," wrote Karim Djaziri, Benzema's agent, on Twitter.

Benzema was visibly in pain during the game, most notably in the celebration of the goal he scored in the 31st minute, in which he limped his way to the sideline to speak with the medical team.
This setback, according to sources within Real Madrid, makes him a doubt for the match on Saturday against Sevilla (18:00 BST, 19:00 CEST) and his role in the game will depend on whether he can train on Friday with the squad.
