Lewandowski: Bundesliga's top foreign scorer and best ever since 1977

Robert Lewandowski would have needed a few more games to match Gerd Muller's record as the Bundesliga's top scorer with 38 goals in the 1969-70 season. But he has broken another record after 24 minutes of the Freiburg game. 

With a goal in the 24th minute, he took his tally to 32 goals, one more than Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's tally in 2016-17. Then, the Gabonese had got the second highest all time scorer record since 1970 behind Dieter Muller's 34 for Koln. 

In the 37th minute, Lewandowski moved on to 33 after scoring from Lucas Hernandez's pass. So, he could move onto 34. 

In any case, Lewandowski will be the top foreign scorer in a Bundesliga season ahead of Aubameyang's 31. Lewandowski had got 30 last season. 

The 31 year-old Pole will end the Bundesliga season breaking records. No one had scored in all of the first 11 matchdays until he did it this season.
