The French Football Federation announced that Clement Lenglet will replace Presnel Kimpembe, who is out through injury. The Barcelona defender will therefore be in the France squad for the matches against Kazakhstan and Finland.

Barcelona left-sided centre-back Clement Lenglet will replace the injured Presnel Kimpembe in France's squad for the final two 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the French Football Federation said on Thursday.

"Presnel Kimpembe will not be able to take part in the last two 2022 World Cup qualifiers, against Kazakhstan on Saturday 13th November at the Parc des Princes and in Helsinki against Finland on Tuesday 16th November," the FFF said in a statement.

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender underwent medical examinations on Thursday, which revealed a hamstring injury in his left thigh.

The medical team of the Paris club and the medical team of Les Bleus gave a report on the state of health of Kimpembe, whom coach Didier Deschamps has decided to replace with the number 23 on his list, Lenglet, who played at a good level for Barca on Tuesday in Kiev after several substitutions, although he ended up with an injury and was changed. He trained normally with Barca today so there was nothing to worry about.
