Lee Mason leaves VAR role after Arsenal blunder

The PGMOL, led by former referee Howard Webb, called an emergency meeting on Tuesday after two major blunders in the games between Arsenal and Brentford and Crystal Palace and Brighton.
Lee Mason was suspended for matchday 24 after missing an offside while checking Ivan Toney's equalising goal for Brentford against Arsenal.
However, that was not the end of the matter. On Friday, the PGMOL revealed that Lee Mason had quit the organisation.
"PGMOL can confirm that Video Assistant Referee Lee Mason has departed the organisation by mutual consent," the PGMOL wrote.
Therefore, the 51 year-old official, who has been in the top flight for 15 years, will not continue in the Premier League. His mistake could be crucial in the title race between Arsenal and Man City as Arteta's side dropped two points and it also proved to be the end for the Bolton based official.
