“Everyone knows my faults and racism is not one of them”

Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho denied accusations of racism levelled against him by Galatasaray and said he has “faults”, but that racism is not one of them.
The Portuguese coach told a press conference that Galatasaray players were “jumping like monkeys” to get one of his players sent off, which the Turkish club interpreted as a racist comment and for which it threatened to sue Mourinho, who was also suspended 4 matches, later reduced to 2.
“They were not very smart for the way they attacked me, because they don't know my past,” Mourinho said in an interview with ‘Sky Sports’.
“They don't know my connections with Africa, with its people, its players and with charities. Instead of getting to go against me, it came back to them like a boomerang,” added Mourinho, who received defense through social networks from former players of his such as Michael Essien and Didier Drogba, with whom he coincided at Chelsea and in the case of the midfielder also at Real Madrid.
“Everyone knows how I am as a person. Everyone knows my faults, but this is not one of them. It's the opposite. The most important thing is that people know how I am and that the attack of accusing me of being a racist was a bad choice,” he concluded.
Mourinho decided to sue Galatasaray and ask for £41,000 - about 49,000 euros - in damages.
